Wishing you and yours Happy Holidays

Ali and Bertie would like to wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

This is Alistair and Bertie.  Alistair was made by Meg of course and Bertie came into our household after the Salt City Urban Art Fair.  Ali has a thing for seasonal cravats.  Bertie thought he would add to the fun by putting on a green ribbon.  I teased Ali about wearing a scarf with cardinals on it, I told him it would be a bit like me wearing a shirt with steaks on it but he said that crows don’t eat cardinals, it would be more like me wearing a skirt with Peruvian people on it.  Since I once owned a sweater made in Peru that had little people on it engaged in various activities, a sweater I cannot put in the Goodwill bag because I really like it alot, I knew he had been poking through my closet again.  He looked a little sheepish when I said this.

Rooster Doll

Rooster Doll

This is a rooster that I had an idea for the minute I woke up this morning.  I made this one today and sold it but would have sold it again because a woman who had looked at it previously had said she would come back (which I hear all day) but then actually did 5 minutes after I had sold the other doll.  Shoot.  I cut out two others so I will make those and post.  Try as I might I could NOT get him to stand, one of the time’s he just fell backwards onto his butt with his feet out in front of him so that is how he left my display.  A rooster sitting about.  He was really adorable when finished and little kids kept stopping to look at him while I was working on him.  LOVE it!

Another stuffed animal and keychain dolls

Here are a few more items that I have made in hopes of selling them at the Plowshares craftshow in December which is put on by the Syracuse Peace Counsil.  We have been in the show for the last two years and have sold many items there.  This year we have not yet heard if we are in, but Michelle and I are both hopeful.

Stuffed Sheep

Flopsy the Stuffed Sheep

This is Flopsy a lovely little stuffed sheep that I made over the last couple days.  It was blistering hot and a little difficult to work in my warm workroom but Flopsy didn’t seem to mind.  She is made of some cloth I forget what they called it at the Quilt store but it is a rough textured cloth that reminds me of the clothing people in films always wear in the middle ages.  She is wearing a crown of spiral beads on top of her head and has little black button eyes.

Cost for this one is 30$

Stuffed Zuni style bear

Stuffed Zuni style bear

This is a prototype bear that I just made.  I can make it in any fabric and any style to suit the taste of the buyer.  This is a very plain bear made with cotton quilting fabric, and four small beads for the eyes.  There is no armature.

This one would be 30$ if I embroidered symbols or added additional beads it would of course cost more.  I am planning to make several a crazy quilt one another like this and a couple in primitive style fabrics,
